Event Recap: Key Takeaways from CES

212NYC launched its 2020 programming calendar and hosted a panel discussion on the Key Takeways from CES at Publicis Media. The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) has become a pivotal event on every marketer’s calendar and sets the stage for technology investments to reach and connect with consumers. This session was a great way for members to hear from industry leaders as well as share their perspectives.

Overlooking sweeping views of Greenwich Village and the Manhattan Skyline, 212NYC members were able to network and engage in lively discussions before the panel over beer, wine and small bites. After cocktail hour, guests transitioned to the panel where 212NYC President, Sophia Woodhouse, encouraged members to make one meaningful connection and learn something that will help move their careers forward.

Moderator, Andrew Klein, Director of Content Innovation, Spark Foundry, kicked-off the panel with a presentation of highlights from CES floor tours with clients. The presentation provided members with an overview of the CES floor and a look into tech that stood from the crowd.

Andrew’s presentation of CES trends was the perfect segue into the panel session, featuring Monique Nelson, Chair & CEO, UWG, Robert Gibbs, Chief Digital Officer, Assembly and Lou Paskalis, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Customer Engagement and Investment Executive, Bank of America. A lively discussion ensued and the panel shared that while technological advancements should be embraced and celebrated they also warrant a dose of cautious optimism in its applications.

“While it's exciting as a marketer to think about the possibilities that are involved with predictive analytics, it also says we need more governance and more thinking around how we want to use these technologies to ensure that we apply them ethically and to the consumer benefit from an advertising perspective.” ~ Lou Paskalis, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Customer Engagement and Investment Executive, Bank of America
