Sr. Director, Marketing, Communications, and Brand Strategy

 

 

The Sr. Director of Marketing is a creative marketing expert who partners with Outcast’s executive team to establish the Outcast network as a leader in the digital advertising arena.  This person will lead Outcast’s overall marketing plan, conceptualize and execute on Outcast’s brand strategy, and will evangelize the network within the agency community and media industry.  In addition, this person will partner with the national sales team to apply creative innovation in line with the needs of advertisers to create compelling solutions and drive advertising revenue.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and drive Outcast’s enterprise wide marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and revenue. Execute on strategic and tactical marketing initiatives for a start-up company with a strong growth trajectory
  • Maintain oversight of all PR activities
  • Provide thought leadership on the evolution of advertising, emerging trends,  technologies, entertainment and media, especially with regard to the digital media space
  • Identify industry events, sponsorship opportunities and speaking opportunities that help to establish Outcast as a leader in the digital media industry.
  • Understand, create, and package network offerings and opportunities that are customizable and scalable on the Outcast network
  • Strategically assess the competitive landscape and prioritize revenue opportunities
  • Build internal relationships to facilitate cross disciplinary collaboration with key Outcast constituents, including sales and the creative team
  • Partner with  Outcast’s field sales force, guiding the development of specific ideas and assisting in the development of key customer pitches, upfront meetings and strategy sessions
  • Guide the development of creative marketing programs that combine a strong understanding of marketer needs with an insightful understanding of existing and potential solutions available from Outcast and its network of properties

 

Basic Requirements:

 

  • Strong marketing background with significant experience in marketing communications, PR, and brand identity.
  • Strong experience in and understanding of digital media and consumer behavior
  • Passion for the changing media landscape, self educated on the trends in consumer behaviors and inventive ways to reach a targeted audience
  • History of creating innovative concepts that have positively impacted revenue
  • A proven collaborator and relationship builder with experience leading executive level engagements

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years combined brand marketing, media strategy, sales development and design or advertising agency experience (ideally in media or brand strategy)
  • 4 + years in the advertising space with a track record of creating compelling marketing solutions
  • Passion for branding and marketing, outspoken advocate for client’s brands
  • Ability to think strategically, understand marketer needs and creatively translate these needs into compelling concepts and programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced, startup/early-stage organization a plus
  • BA/BS, MBA a plus
